Who We Are

A Brotherhood Built on Wood

Founded September 5, 1892, in Gurdon, Arkansas — the world's oldest fraternal organization dedicated to the forest products industry. Members span lumber, paper, wood products, and allied trades worldwide.

The number nine is sacred to Hoo-Hoo: nine founders, nine aims, nine woven through our traditions.
